"I am a screenwriter with a bit of a paper addiction, to put it mildly. I keep every periodical, unread newspapers, cards, letters, and probably unnecessary bills. Needless to say, my home office was slowly shrinking, due to the piles of papers. I knew I could never tackle this problem alone. It seemed that insurmountable. Calling No Wire Hangers was one of the best decisions I ever made. Julie and I worked together on the piles for days…weeks…even months. She helped me set up a filing system, archive sentimental ephemera, and let go of printed matter from the last decade…even the last century! Though it was at times overwhelming, Julie assured me that it would not always be this way, and that organizing my life would be worth it. She was right on both counts.
Once the office was in good shape, we tackled other rooms in the house, with the goal of organizing, going green, reducing waste, and helping the needy by donating all that extra “stuff” I had accumulated. It was liberating, freeing, and even fun.
Two rewards of my newly organized office have already surfaced. Last summer during the Station Fire in Los Angeles, I felt the need to have my important papers at the ready in case I would have to evacuate. Thankfully, I didn’t, but it was a comfort to know that I could immediately access those documents. The second reward came recently, when I started preparing for tax season. Over the years I have come to expect – as has my accountant – that I would have missing bank statements and other important documents he needs for my year-end. Instead, I was shocked to discover that I not only had everything, but the statement were in order and neatly filed. Less time preparing for taxes means more time for other things! Like cleaning out those last few closets. I have caught the No Wire Hangers fever. I highly recommend it."
